New Facebook Page for Pages June 29, 2016

This may not make sense to you if you are not a Facebook page admin. Sorry my food followers but I had to blog about this for my fellow Facebook admins and for my records. 😉

So I woke up this morning June 29, 2016 and saw that there’s a new Facebook layout on my site’s Facebook page: All Nigerian Recipes Facebook page.
It looks like we are back to the old way that Facebook displayed Facebook pages. If anyone remembers the pre-timeline days, that’s what we are back on.

To make sure I was not sleep-walking LOL, I checked a few browsers and so far this new display only appears on Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. I am using Windows 10. I wonder if there are other Facebook page admins that have seen this new display. I kind of like it.

Here’s what the new Facebook layout looks like. Please note that I displayed the page as a “Visitor”. When viewed as an admin of the page, you’ll see the page more page statistics such as reach, new likes and engagement data right under the cover photo and in the right column.

New Facebook Page changes that I see so far:

1. It’s now a full on 3-column layout, looks like a blog/website in its own right.
2. There’s a search box for posts at the top right, just under the page photo. This is a welcome development because trying to find previous posts on Facebook by going to the dates was a nightmare.
3. Page profile photo is now on the top left, no longer embedded inside the cover photo.
4. Facebook page links that used to be right under the cover photo are now displayed on the left, under the profile photo.
5. Videos, visitor’s posts and other pages likes by page are now displayed on the right

Like I wrote earlier, this new Facebook layout for pages looks so much like the layout we had during the pre-timeline days. I’m off to explore the new Facebook layout more. 😉
