O yes, per the title of this post, instead of July recipes, we have July Waka! I did enough waka in July because all cooking and no fun, makes Flo a dull babe. 😉
I was in London in July for a bit of the London rainy weather. I get too much vitamin D where I live so my doctor prescribed a rainy, cloudy environment with mild chills. 😀 Not!
I lived in the south east of England for three and a half years (left many years ago) but I have completely forgotten how rainy and cloudy the weather is over there. This July trip was a shocking reminder. I am used to clear blue skies 95% of the time where I live and I was so not ready for the cloudy skies I woke up to every day while in London.
That notwithstanding, I and my kids had the time of our lives with my good friend Edna and her family who invited us for an all expense paid trip to London. 😉 Yay! Such love!
We visited as many kid-friendly London landmarks and attractions as we could. It was my kids’ first time in London and now the words on their lips are London Eye, London Bridge, Big Ben, London Underground, London Bus to name a few. London is such a touristic city and should be in everyone’s bucket list.
I reconnected with my classmate and friend who has refused to visit us again since her last visit a long time ago. It felt so good seeing her again. She gave I and my kids so many gifts that we had to buy another bag to fit them all in! Nonnyto abeg oo! 😉
I also had the privilege of meeting a very vibrant friend and sister in the real world. I and Chioma of Mummy’s Yum met online sometime ago but meeting her and her kids for real felt so good! I am back home now but I am still in holiday mode. That means that as I search for the next beach to take my kids to (our yearly ritual), I will try my best to upload recipes in the remaining summer months but bikonu, do not hold it against me if you do not see any. lol There’s too much sunshine and warmth here to spend the rest of the summer working indoors.

Picadilly Circus: They wanted to take photos with everyone and the kind London policeman obliged them. 🙂
Trafalgar Square: It’s a bit disappointing that there are no more pigeons at Trafalgar Square. We saw this duo that asked my son which country he was visiting from, he told them (Spain) and they requested that he writes Hello in Spanish and he did.

On the way to Buckingham Palace. All these places are so close to each other and are easily walkable.

My kids were so up for the waka on this day, we also visited the London Eye and the Big Ben.
The London Eye 4D experience is awesome! It comes on the same ticket as the ride so make sure you do not miss the 4D experience the next time you go there. It’s got real sensations with full immersion into the presentation.

We really had fun in London. London is such a beautiful city and we did not allow the rain and cloudy skies steal our joy. My daughter is already making plans to go back. 😉

The main thing some of the western economies have got going for them is tourism. I wonder when we Nigerians will key into this and develop our environment to the point that foreigners will look forward to visiting us, SMH.

Hehehe @ God is saying something to you! I went natural 5 years ago and I am loving my hair more. It’s not easy to maintain it but I prefer it to relaxed hair.
Nne, my hopes of Nigeria being even clean enough for the citizens is something I have given up on long ago. Not to talk of being beautiful enough for tourism. All they know is oil money. They don’t know that most countries are run with only money from taxes and tourism. The sad thing is that our politicians visit these countries and instead of them to copy and paste, simply copy and paste ooo, dem no fit!
