Be Careful Where You Eat!

When it comes to what we eat, the food we prepare in our own kitchen is the only one we can trust. The moment we leave our homes, we will never know everything that goes into the food we eat.

Recently I read about how some people use paracetamol, the pain killer as meat tenderizer. They add paracetamol into the pot while cooking the tough Nigerian meats: shaki, ponmo, cowfoot etc so the meat will cook faster thereby saving them time and cooking gas or electricity.

WHY?

paracetamol as food tenderizer

When there’s a pressure cooker to do the job for you without the need to add dangerous ingredients? Paracetamol is a medicine that should be taken with cool water and people don’t think twice about adding it to their meals?

Since I read that and the comments from those who swore by it defending it with every breath in them, I have come to the conclusion that this is widespread. Now I am thinking of all the places I ate in recent times and wondering what they use to expedite their cooking. I have heard of stainless steel spoons, potash, 7up, Sprite, LaCasera etc. So please be careful where you eat. Pay attention to the taste of the food and once you notice a strange out of place taste, stop eating o.
