  3. Carrots get oil?

    • Kate there are 2 types of oil you can get from carrots:
      1. Carrot seed oil
This is the oil extracted from the seeds of carrots. The orange carrot we see grows inside the earth and oil can be extracted from the seeds that grow above the ground.
      2. Carrot Oil
This is the one explained in the link above. It is called essential oil because like you rightly asked, the orange carrot we eat does not contain oil but it contains essential nutrients like beta carotene. To extract this beta carotene, we need another oil known as carrier oils to extract this important nutrient. Examples of carrier oils you can use for this are virgin olive oil, virgin coconut oil and many more.

  4. Why dry the carrot? Why not use it fresh and juicy

  5. Don’t know about this!!!!

  6. Pls Must d carrot become crispy while drying

  7. Keep up the good work ma’am. Please I need your opinion; is carrot oil safe for use on children from about 1yr6mths? Secondly, do you think our Nigeria weather can cause carrot oil to have adverse effect on the skin? I heard it does. I am really keen on making this carrot oil.

    • Ije since a 1 year and 6 month old child can eat carrots and olive oil, home made carrot oil should be ok for him/her. I’m sorry I do not know about the effects of Nigerian weather when carrot oil is used on the skin. I mainly add carrot oil to some meals and sometimes use it on my hair. For these kinds of things sometimes you need to use it, give it sometime to work then decide for yourself because everybody’s skin is not the same.

  8. Please can I use home made coconut oil as my carrier oil for the carrot oil?

  9. Had problem with my audio, how long do i keep the carrot and the carrier oil before filtering it.
